Moscow, Feb 28 (V7N) – Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Russian Security Council and close ally of Vladimir Putin, has sharply criticized the United States for its recent military operation against Iran.
Medvedev claimed that while nuclear negotiations were underway, the US had secretly prepared for a strike. “The Americans have once again shown their true colors by speaking about peace while planning attacks behind the scenes,” he said.
He questioned the sincerity of the US diplomatic efforts, stating, “If the Americans really believed in these talks, why would they attack?” Medvedev argued that the round-the-clock discussions with Tehran were a strategic cover to mask military action.
The remarks reflect growing tensions between Russia and the United States over the escalating US-Israel operations in Iran, with Moscow positioning itself as a vocal critic of Western military interventions in the region.
