Baghdad, Feb 28 (V7N) – At least two members of the Hashid Shaabi militia were killed and three others seriously injured in an airstrike in the Zurf al-Sakhar area south of the Iraqi capital, a spokesman for the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) confirmed.
The attack occurred in the Zurf al-Sakhar region, though no group has yet claimed responsibility for the airstrike. Iraqi authorities are actively monitoring the situation.
The Hashid Shaabi, also known internationally as the Popular Mobilization Forces, is an umbrella organization of various Shiite-dominated paramilitary groups, several of which maintain close ties with Iran.
