Tangail, July 18 (V7N) – The Tangail district unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) organized a silent march and special prayer session on Friday to commemorate the martyrs of the historic July Uprising. The event also included prayers for the recovery of those injured during the movement.
 
The silent march began at noon from the city’s Central Shaheed Minar, led by Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Central Publicity Secretary of BNP. The procession passed through key roads of Tangail town and concluded in front of the Tangail Press Club, where party leaders and activists held a brief gathering.
 
Among those who addressed the gathering were Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Tangail District BNP President Hasanuzzamil Shaheen, General Secretary Advocate Farhad Iqbal, and former District BNP Member Secretary Mahmudul Haque Sanu.
 
Leaders and activists from BNP and its affiliated organizations actively participated in the march. Prior to the event, district BNP organized a prayer session at the District Central Jame Mosque after Jummah prayers, seeking forgiveness for the souls of the July Uprising martyrs and praying for the quick recovery of the injured.
 
BNP leaders called for nationwide unity in remembering the sacrifices made during the July Uprising and vowed to continue their political struggle for justice and democratic rights. The atmosphere throughout the program remained peaceful and solemn.
