Habiganj, Nov 04 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has officially announced Syed Md. Faisal, former district BNP president, former Member of Parliament, and veteran political leader, as its candidate for the Habiganj-4 constituency, covering Madhabpur and Chunarughat. The announcement was made Monday evening in Dhaka by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The nomination has sparked widespread enthusiasm and celebratory activities among BNP supporters and local residents in Madhabpur and Chunarughat. Many expressed optimism that with such a popular and experienced candidate, BNP will mount a strong challenge in the upcoming election.
Following the announcement, party offices across Madhabpur and Chunarughat were abuzz with victory processions, distribution of sweets, and loud chants of support.
Madhabpur Upazila BNP President Shamsul Islam Kamal said, “We are extremely pleased. The central leadership’s decision to nominate Syed Md. Faisal meets the expectations of our grassroots supporters. He is not only a politician but also a dedicated public servant. Under his leadership, we will move forward unitedly in the election.”
Upazila BNP General Secretary Hamidur Rahman Hamdu added, “This is the right decision. BNP workers are already mobilizing on the ground. Syed Md. Faisal is a proven leader who never steps back in difficult times. With his leadership, victory is assured.”
Upazila BNP Vice President and Chairman Parvez Hossain Chowdhury stated, “Syed Faisal’s popularity extends beyond the party; he is widely respected by the general public. A candidate of his experience and credibility will bring BNP back into the electoral field strongly.”
Ala Uddin Al Roni, General Secretary of the Municipal BNP, said, “Announcing Faisal Bhai as our candidate has energized our workers. After many years, it feels like BNP is regaining strength in the electoral arena, and our teams are organizing under his leadership.”
Local business leader and BNP supporter Dewan Matin remarked, “The business community is also pleased. Syed Faisal is everyone’s leader, not bound by party constraints. His contributions to development, education, and healthcare are widely recognized.”
Tea worker leader Khelu Nayek noted, “People in our plantation areas have long been neglected. Faisal Sahab has always stood by us. His candidacy brings new hope for the working community.”
Shahjahanpur Union BNP President Alfaz Mia added, “The nomination has revived BNP’s momentum in Madhabpur-Chunarughat. Meetings at union and ward levels have already started, and we are confident that people’s votes will bring change this time.”
