JHALOKATI, March 31 (V7N) — The Upazila Project Implementation Officer (PIO) has extended emergency assistance to families affected by a devastating fire in Ward No. 3 of Amua Union, Kanthalia Upazila.

On Tuesday morning, Md. Jobayer Hossain, the PIO, distributed dry food, blankets, and essential items as part of disaster relief efforts.

The fire, which broke out on the night of March 26 at the residence of Md. Anwar Hossain Sikder, reduced the entire house to ashes. Local witnesses estimated the damage at around Tk 1.5 lakh.

Speaking to reporters, PIO Jobayer Hossain said that assistance will continue to support the family’s rehabilitation and recovery.

Authorities noted that the relief programme is part of the government’s broader disaster response strategy, ensuring immediate support for affected households.
