Dhaka, July 7 (V7N) — Residents in several neighborhoods of Dhaka will face an 11-hour interruption in gas supply on Monday as Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd undertakes pipeline relocation works under the DND Canal Excavation Project. The disruption will affect both residential and commercial consumers across a wide area, according to a public notice issued by Titas Gas on Sunday.
As per the notice, gas supply will be suspended from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM in key localities as the company relocates existing pipelines in nine canals under the Dhaka section of the Dhaka-Narayanganj-Demra (DND) project.

Tengra, Bahir Tengra, Hajinagar, Amtola, Borobhanga, Kodaldoa, Sanarpar, Nimaikashari, Nama Shyampur, Zia Sarani, Japanese Bazar, Titas Gas Road, Chapra Mosque, Ruposhi Bangla Hospital, Shonir Akhra, RS Tower area, Gobindapur, Matuail, Mridhabari, Kajla, Bhanga Bridge, Demra, Staff Quarter, Amulia, Paiti, Zahir Steel, Shahriar Steel, Dharmik Para, and Council area.
Titas also warned that nearby neighborhoods may experience low gas pressure during the maintenance window.
The pipeline relocation is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades under the DND Canal Rehabilitation Project, which aims to restore natural water flow and reduce urban flooding by re-excavating clogged canal systems in the Dhaka and Narayanganj districts. Relocating utility lines such as gas pipelines is a crucial preparatory step before excavation can proceed safely.
Titas Gas has apologized in advance for the inconvenience and requested the cooperation of affected consumers during the temporary disruption.
