NARAYANGANJ, July 7, (V7N) - Education Adviser Prof Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar on Monday, (July 7) credited the student community with achieving "liberty for the people" through the recent July mass upsurge.
Speaking at a function in Gakul Dasherbagh under Bandar upazila, Dr Abrar stated, “We had no rights in our own country and became subjects of the nation.” He emphasized the need to establish a "moral and humane-based education system" that fosters skilled individuals. He particularly highlighted the critical role of technical education, asserting that "there is no alternative to technical education and the technical students will be the architecture for building a new Bangladesh."
Dr. Abrar stressed the importance of prioritizing technology-based education to align with global systems and the job market. He also called for the modernization of the existing Madrassa education system through the integration of technology.
Recalling the impact of the anti-discrimination movement, Prof Rafiqul Abrar declared, “July is our pride as we have got back our rights through July upsurge. The government has already instructed all the educational institutions to arrange programmes on July movement to memories the July martyred. Everyone should cooperate with the injured of July movement.”
He further noted that the state is providing its utmost support to the "July warriors" and urged all segments of society to stand by the families of those martyred and injured during the movement. Dr. Abrar expressed hope that the future democratic political government would undertake societal reforms to fulfill the aspirations of the common people.
Among those present at the function were Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah and Police Super Prottus Kumar Majumder.
