Leaders of the National Citizen Party pay tribute at the shrine of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani in Tangail on Monday night, ahead of the July Procession aimed at promoting his vision for a just and equitable Bangladesh.
TANGAIL, July 29 (V7N) – As part of its countrywide “July Procession” campaign, the National Citizen Party (NCP) is set to organize a major procession in Tangail on Tuesday with the stated goal of advancing a just and equitable Bangladesh. Senior central leaders of the NCP arrived in Tangail on Monday night and paid tribute at the shrine of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, a revered figure in Bangladesh’s political history.
Following the visit to the shrine, the delegation spent the night at the Circuit House in Tangail. Local NCP leaders confirmed that all preparations have been completed to ensure the success of Tuesday's procession.
NCP Convenor Nahid Islam stated that Maulana Bhashani was a champion of the rights of farmers, workers, and the oppressed. “He was not only a pioneer of the 1969 mass uprising but also a fierce opponent of dominance by both Islamabad and New Delhi in Bangladesh’s affairs,” he said. “The NCP was founded with the vision Bhashani had for a just and equitable nation—free from all forms of discrimination.”
He added that the party aims to carry forward Bhashani’s legacy through a political platform grounded in the interests of the working class and marginalized communities.
The July Procession in Tangail will begin at 10:30 a.m. from the Shamsul Haque Gate in the district center. It will proceed through various streets of the city and conclude at the Central Shaheed Minar near Niralamor.
The event is a part of NCP’s ongoing nationwide initiative to mobilize public support for their political platform centered on equity, justice, and national self-determination.
