Dhaka, Nov 10 (V7N) — The Supreme Court administration has banned the entry of outsiders into the National Eidgah grounds to ensure security ahead of the verdict in the July-August crimes against humanity case, involving former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. The verdict is scheduled for November 13.
The notification, issued on Sunday (November 9), stated that the Supreme Court compound, including the International Crimes Tribunal area, the Attorney General's Office, and the Supreme Court Bar Association Building, must be secured due to the increased presence of outsiders in recent times, which poses a security threat.
Authorities, including the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner, the Supreme Court and Special Court Security Division, and the OC of Shahbagh Police Station, have been directed to enforce the restriction and maintain overall security.
The Supreme Court emphasized that these measures are necessary to safeguard judicial proceedings and protect critical documents and areas of the highest court.
