Rangmati, Mar 26 (V7N) - A passenger bus lost control and overturned on the main road in the Kalabagan area of ​​Sapchhari on the Rangamati-Chittagong road. At least 20 people were injured, but no deaths were reported.

Rangamati General Hospital authorities confirmed the injuries and said one of the critically injured has been referred to Chittagong.

The accident occurred at 12:30 pm on Thursday. Although the road was temporarily closed, traffic resumed normalcy at 1:30 pm.

Locals said that a Chittagong-bound bus (numbered Chattogram-J-11-0104) carrying at least 50/60 passengers inside and on the roof from Naniarchar Upazila headquarters in Rangamati lost control and overturned on the right side of the road when it reached Kalabagan area in Sapchhari.

As a result, almost all the passengers inside the bus were injured. The injured escaped by breaking the glass of the vehicle. It is said that the supervisor of the vehicle was injured in the head and leg and the driver in the leg. Immediately after the incident, the fire service and locals came forward to rescue the injured and sent them to Rangamati General Hospital.

Rangamati General Hospital authorities said that a total of 20 people were brought to the hospital by locals in the bus accident. One of the injured was in critical condition and has been referred to Chittagong Medical College for advanced treatment.
