DHAKA, March 26 (V7N) — Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid a courtesy call on President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban on Thursday evening, marking the 56th Independence and National Day.

Upon his arrival at the presidential residence, Bangabhaban, the President and his spouse Dr. Rebeka Sultana warmly welcomed the Prime Minister and his daughter, Barrister Zaima Rahman, with bouquets of flowers.

During the meeting, they exchanged greetings and discussed various programmes undertaken to mark Independence Day, according to a Bangabhaban press release.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the Independence Day celebrations.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman also recalled his visit to Bangabhaban in his youth and shared memories from that time with the President.

Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal, along with concerned secretaries from the President’s Office and the Prime Minister’s Office, were present at the meeting.
