Koyra, July 30 (V7N) — The Coast Guard recovered 32 kilograms of deer meat during a special operation in the Patakhali area of Koyra on Tuesday night. However, no arrests were made during the raid.
Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq, Media Officer of the Coast Guard (Dhaka), stated that based on secret intelligence, Coast Guard personnel conducted the operation at around 11 PM. The team found the deer meat packed in a sack. The poachers fled upon sensing the presence of law enforcement, making it impossible to apprehend anyone.
He further added that the seized meat has been handed over to the Boz Bhaja Forest Office under the Forest Department for proper legal action. Lieutenant Commander Haq emphasized that the Coast Guard will continue such operations to prevent wildlife poaching and trafficking, thereby protecting the Sundarbans’ rich biodiversity.
