DHAKA, Aug 09 (V7N) – The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has reported that three more people have died from dengue, and 325 others have been hospitalized across the country in the 24 hours leading up to this morning.

According to a press release from the DGHS, the new hospitalizations were spread across several divisions:

Barishal: 66 patients

Chattogram: 54 patients

Dhaka Division: 49 patients (outside the city corporations)

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC): 33 patients

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC): 62 patients

Khulna: 14 patients

Mymensingh: 6 patients

Rajshahi: 41 patients

With these latest figures, the total number of dengue infections this year has risen to 23,735, and the death toll has reached 98. In the same 24-hour period, 306 patients were released from hospitals after receiving treatment.

For comparison, last year, the country saw a total of 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths.
