NETRAKONA, July 27 (V7N) – The National Citizen Party (NCP) has reiterated its commitment to building a prosperous and people-centered Bangladesh, focusing on guaranteed access to education, healthcare, and housing. NCP Convener Nahid Islam made the statement while addressing a street rally on Sunday as part of the party’s ongoing "July March" campaign, which began at Moktarpara Collector Field in Netrakona.

During his speech, Nahid Islam condemned the country’s current political state, alleging that the people of Bangladesh have been held hostage over the past 16 years under what he described as “a fascist regime marked by killings, enforced disappearances, looting, and corruption.” He asserted that accountability for these alleged crimes will come in time.

He also reaffirmed the party’s position against Indian regional dominance, stating that NCP would continue to resist any form of external hegemony in the future.

The event featured speeches from several key party figures, including North Zone Coordinator Sarjis Alam, Joint Secretary Tasnim Zara, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, Central Committee Organizer Preetam Sohag, and Central Member Fahim Rahman Khan Pathan. Notably, although present on stage, South Zone Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah did not deliver a speech.

The “July March” is part of a broader campaign by the NCP aimed at raising public awareness about their platform, which includes national sovereignty, anti-corruption measures, and equitable development. Party leaders emphasized that a fair and inclusive political system is essential for sustainable progress in Bangladesh.
