Dhaka, July 22 (V7N) — The Bangladesh government has announced the postponement of Tuesday’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations in the Uttara area of Dhaka, where a Bangladesh Air Force training jet tragically crashed into the Milestone School and College campus, resulting in fatalities. The decision was made in observance of the state-declared day of mourning.
A late-night press release from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Public Relations Officer, Md. Mamun Ar Rashid, confirmed the suspension of exams on Monday. The announcement was further corroborated by Information Adviser Mahfuz Alam via social media after consultations with Education Adviser Professor C R Abrar.
Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan also posted around 2:45 a.m. that Tuesday’s HSC exams had been suspended.
Earlier on Monday night, the examination controller of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Professor S M Kamal Uddin Haider, informed media outlets that no decision had been made to postpone the exams and that all scheduled tests would proceed as planned.
According to the published timetable, students were due to sit for the following papers on Tuesday:

10 a.m.–1 p.m.: Chemistry (theory), and History & Culture of Islam II (humanities)

Afternoon session: History II / Home Economics II and Production Management & Marketing II
However, in light of the tragedy and the national mourning day, the government has officially suspended all exams scheduled for the day.
