Jhalokathi, Aug 17 (V7N) – Leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Kathalia upazila of Jhalokathi district launched a public outreach campaign on Sunday by distributing leaflets outlining Tarique Rahman’s 31-point state reform agenda.

The leaflet distribution took place at various key locations including Koikhali Bazar in Chechri Rampur Union, Kathalia upazila headquarters, the main market, and the local bus stand. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about BNP's proposed political and structural reforms.

At Chechri Rampur Union and Koikhali Bazar, the leaflets were handed out directly by Rafiqul Islam Jamal, Religious Affairs Secretary of BNP’s National Executive Committee. In other areas such as the upazila center and the bus stand, the campaign was led on his behalf by BNP leader and President of the Dhaka-based Kathalia Welfare Association, Md. Shamim Shikder.

Hundreds of BNP members and activists from the party’s local and affiliated organizations participated in the program, distributing leaflets to the general public in a festive and energetic atmosphere.

The 31-point reform plan proposed by Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of BNP, includes commitments to institutional reforms, democratic governance, judicial independence, electoral transparency, and anti-corruption measures. Party leaders believe this plan reflects a roadmap for rebuilding the country through inclusive and accountable governance.

Organizers stated that the leaflet campaign is part of BNP’s broader national initiative to engage citizens in the conversation about structural reform and to build support ahead of the next general election. The party has planned similar campaigns across multiple districts to inform voters about its policy platform and leadership vision.
