Pabna, Aug 17 (V7N) — Hasanul Islam Raja, Adviser to the Central Committee of the BNP-affiliated Cultural Forum and a hopeful nominee for the Pabna‑3 parliamentary seat, has embarked on a grassroots campaign across key towns in the constituency, promising to curb corruption, extortion, terrorism, and to foster local development.

On Friday afternoon, Raja held open-air campaign meetings at Dhanuaghata Bazaar in Faridpur upazila, followed on Saturday by engagements in Bhungura and Sharatnagar bazaars of Bhungura upazila. He distributed leaflets outlining Tarique Rahman’s 31-point vision and solicited support directly from residents.

During the campaign, Raja issued a call for local leadership: “The election is approaching next February, and many aspire to run on the rice sheaf symbol here. Some are even campaigning as if they’ve already been nominated—people who have no genuine ties to this land. They promise ministerial roles, yet they are not farmers themselves. Their families never tilled the land; they come from other trades. We do not need an outsider as our agriculture minister. Let’s stand together — we want a local MP for Pabna‑3.”

Raja urged constituents to “wake up and raise their voices in every household. Reject outsiders; elect a candidate from right here who truly understands your needs.”

He further vowed, if elected, to eliminate illegal practices—including corruption, extortion, and terror—and institute development in sectors such as education, health, and agriculture. He also pledged to bring gas connections, industrial investments, and high-tech job opportunities to Faridpur, Bhangura, and Chatmohar upazilas to provide youth employment.

Raja’s message is already resonating within the locality, where he emphasized the need for responsible representation and equitable development.
