Pabna, Dec 16 (V7N) – Pabna has commenced the distribution and submission of nomination papers for the upcoming 13th National Parliament election. On the first day, Maulana Iqbal Hossain, the Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate for Pabna-5 (Sadar) and Deputy Amir of the district Jamaat-e-Islami, submitted his nomination.
On Monday, December 15, Maulana Iqbal Hossain received his nomination papers from Shahid Mostafa, the Deputy Commissioner of Pabna and District Returning Officer, at the Pabna Deputy Commissioner's office.
The submission event was attended by the District Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami and Pabna-4 candidate Professor Abu Taleb Mondal, Secretary Professor Abdul Gaffar Khan, General Secretary of the District Bar Association Advocate Sultan Mahmud Khan Ehiya, and Pabna municipal Jamaat Amir Abdul Latif, among others.
Speaking to the media afterward, Maulana Iqbal Hossain said, “For the past 17 years, the people have not been able to exercise their voting rights. This time, the people are ready to vote. If the election environment remains free and fair, and the administration stays neutral, the people will bring Jamaat-e-Islami to power.”
The nomination submission in Pabna marks the official start of the candidate registration process for the 13th National Parliament election, setting the stage for an active electoral campaign in the district.
