Dhaka, Feb 26 (V7N) – A fresh reshuffle has been carried out at the top level of the Bangladesh Army, bringing a new face to the post of Quartermaster General (QMG) at Army Headquarters.

According to sources at the Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant General Mohammad Shahinul Haque, who had been serving as Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), has been appointed as the new Quartermaster General.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Md. Faizur Rahman, who had been serving as QMG since October last year, has been posted as the new Commandant of the National Defence College.

The newly appointed QMG Shahinul Haque previously served as Chief of General Staff (CGS) at Army Headquarters and also held the position of Master-General of the Ordnance (MGO). Commissioned through the 20th BMA Long Course, he earlier served as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24th Infantry Division in Chattogram and the 9th Infantry Division in Savar.

New NDC Commandant Faizur Rahman, commissioned through the 23rd BMA Long Course, had briefly served as Director General of DGFI before his promotion to Lieutenant General. He also served as GOC of the 66th Infantry Division in Rangpur.

In another development, Major General Nasim Parvez, Commandant of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), has been deputed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for assignment as an ambassador.

Major General Hakimuzzaman, who had been serving as Adjutant General, has been appointed as the new Commandant of MIST.

Additionally, Major General Hossain Al Morshed, GOC of the 19th Infantry Division in Ghatail, Tangail, has been appointed as the new Adjutant General. He previously served as Director General of NSI.

Furthermore, Major General Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, GOC and Area Commander of the 66th Infantry Division in Rangpur, has been made GOC of the Logistics Area. The previous Logistics Area Commander, Major General Mostagousur Rahman, has retired from the army.
