DHAKA, Feb 12, 2026 (V7N) - National Citizens’ Party (NCP) Central Election Management Committee Chairman Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan said Thursday night that while irregularities were reported in some areas, overall voting across the country was conducted in a fairly peaceful and acceptable manner.

Speaking at an emergency press conference at the party’s central office around 9:30 p.m., Bhuiyan acknowledged reports of irregularities but stressed that the broader electoral picture suggested orderly conduct. He urged the Election Commission and relevant authorities to give due importance to affected constituencies and take decisions in favour of the people.

He called upon leaders and activists of the 11-party alliance to remain vigilant at polling centres until final results are announced. “Even if preliminary results show us ahead, no centre should be left unattended,” he said.

Bhuiyan added that party leaders and activists had already been instructed to stay alert, noting: “If necessary, we will take any appropriate decision.”
