MONGLA, February 22, (V7N) — A grand reception and Iftar Mahfil were held on Saturday in honor of Lion Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam, the State Minister for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The event, organized jointly by the Mongla Municipal and Upazila units of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), took place at the Mongla Port Workers' and Employees' Association premises.

State Minister Dr. Faridul Islam, who also holds responsibilities for the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Religious Affairs, was warmly received by local leaders and activists with bouquets and garlands. As the elected Member of Parliament for the Bagerhat-03 (Mongla-Rampal) constituency, the Minister used the platform to reaffirm his commitment to his constituents following the recent national elections.

Addressing the gathering, the State Minister pledged to fulfill all his pre-election promises "to the letter." He issued a stern warning against corruption and criminal activities, stating, "No one will be allowed to engage in wrongdoing. Regardless of identity, strict legal action will be taken against anyone who violates the law." He urged party activists and the general public to prioritize the maintenance of peace and order in the region.

The event saw a massive turnout of leaders and activists from all BNP affiliates. Notable attendees included Municipal BNP President Md. Zulfikar Ali and General Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Manik, along with Upazila BNP President A. Mannan Howlader and General Secretary Abu Hossain Poni. The gathering concluded with a special prayer and Iftar as the holy month of Ramadan approaches.
