Dhaka, Feb 16 (V7N) — A solar eclipse will take place today, beginning in the evening Bangladesh time, but it will not be visible from the country, according to an official statement.

In a press release, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the eclipse will commence at 5:56:36 pm Bangladesh Standard Time and conclude at 8:27:36 pm.

The ISPR confirmed that the celestial event will not be observable from Bangladesh due to its geographic position relative to the path of the eclipse. However, the phenomenon will be visible in parts of the Southern Hemisphere, including Argentina, Chile, South Africa, and the Antarctic region.

Astronomical observers in the visible zones are advised to use proper eye protection while viewing the eclipse to avoid potential eye damage.

Authorities have not issued any special directives for Bangladesh, as the eclipse will not be visible from the country.
