RAJSHAHI, Feb 15 (V7N) -  Defying the conventional notion of retirement, Noor A Alam Siddiqui of Aliganj area in Rajshahi has emerged as a successful poultry farmer, setting an inspiring example of self-employment and productive living after government service.

After retiring from the health department, Siddiqui chose not to remain idle and instead established a poultry farm at his residence to ensure both financial activity and nutritional security for his family. With proper planning and dedication, his farm now houses around 600 chickens and has achieved notable success within a short period.

Family support has played a crucial role in the initiative, as his wife China Khatun and only daughter Senjuti actively assist in the daily management of the farm. From feeding the poultry to maintaining hygiene and overall supervision, the family works together to run the operation smoothly.

Speaking about his journey, Siddiqui said retirement should be viewed as a new beginning rather than the end of an active life, adding that the continuous support of his wife and daughter made it possible to manage such a large farm efficiently.

His transition from a government career to poultry farming has drawn significant attention from local youths, many of whom visit his farm to learn about small-scale poultry entrepreneurship. By adopting modern farming methods and regular vaccination, he has also managed to keep poultry mortality at a low level.

His initiative demonstrates that age and former profession are not barriers to success, and with determination and family support, entrepreneurship can be achieved at any stage of life.
