Sylhet, Mar 19 (V7N) — Minister of Labor and Employment and Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Chowdhury said the government has allocated 2.5 billion taka to pay the salaries and allowances of workers, ensuring there was no dissatisfaction among employees during the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The minister made the remarks on Thursday morning while speaking to journalists after visiting the historic Shahi Eidgah Maidan in Sylhet.
Ariful Haque Chowdhury also stated that the government plans to reopen factories that were closed during Eid and highlighted ongoing initiatives to export trained manpower abroad.
In addition, the minister announced a new monthly education allowance of 2,000 taka for the children of workers who lost their lives in Middle East conflicts, aiming to provide financial support and ensure access to education for affected families.
These measures reflect the government’s efforts to support workers, maintain labor satisfaction, and promote overseas employment opportunities.
