Dhaka, Mar 14 (V7N) — Mirza Abbas, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, has undergone a second round of brain surgery while receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital Dhaka. Doctors on duty confirmed that the surgeries were successful.
The BNP leader was scheduled to be taken to Singapore on Friday (March 13) evening for advanced treatment. However, as his physical condition deteriorated, doctors decided to perform the surgery in Bangladesh.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the hospital after Friday prayers and was briefed in detail about Abbas’s condition by the medical board.
The medical board overseeing his treatment includes Professor Ali Uzzaman Joarder, Professor Kazi Din Mohammad, Professor Shahabuddin Talukder, Professor Rajiul Haque, Syed Professor Sayeed Ahmed, Professor Quader Sheikh, and Professor Shafiqul Islam, along with other physicians from Evercare Hospital.
Mirza Abbas was admitted to the hospital after he fell ill and lost consciousness during Iftar last Wednesday. His family has requested prayers from the nation for his speedy recovery.
