Dhaka, Feb 21 (V7N) — Prime Minister Tarique Rahman worked from the Tejgaon office in the capital for the first time during a public holiday on Saturday morning.
She arrived at the office around 10:10 am, where Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar and Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon welcomed her.
Greetings With Officials
Before entering the main building, the Prime Minister exchanged greetings with officials and staff members who had served during the tenure of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
Tree Planting and Prayers
During the visit, the Prime Minister planted a golden-plated flower sapling on the office premises and offered special prayers expressing gratitude to Allah.
Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser AKM Shamsul Islam and other senior officials were present at the time.
Language Day Commemoration
On the occasion of Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day 2026, the Prime Minister also unveiled commemorative postage stamps, marking the significance of the day in the nation’s history.
The visit reflects the Prime Minister’s continued official engagement and participation in national observances even during holidays.
