Dhaka, Feb 05 (V7N) — Foreign Affairs Advisor Tohid Hossain stated that agreements signed by the interim government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus with foreign countries will not become a burden for the next elected government.

Responding to questions from journalists at a meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, Hossain said, “The current government is addressing many issues so that it will be easier for the next government to work effectively.”

He also addressed concerns about Bangladeshis facing difficulties in obtaining visas abroad. “This is not the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nor mine personally. It is the responsibility of the country and the entire system,” he explained. Hossain highlighted that fraudulent documentation has undermined trust abroad. “Until we put our house in order, this problem will not be solved. More challenges may arise if corrective measures are not taken,” he warned.

On bilateral relations, Hossain admitted that ties with India during the interim government were “not smooth.” However, he expressed hope that the incoming government will restore smoother relations between Bangladesh and India.
