Rajshahi, Nov 09 (V7N)- Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul has said there is no reason to worry about the upcoming national elections, as the government is committed to holding them in the first half of February.

He made the remarks after a meeting with judges at the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Rajshahi on Sunday (November 9) morning.

Dr. Nazrul stated that the government is taking all necessary steps to ensure a festive and peaceful atmosphere during the election period. “Political parties often make statements to put pressure on each other, and sometimes on advisors. While some of these statements may be partially true, they create a false impression of fear regarding the elections — but in reality, there is no such concern,” he said.

The law advisor further added that individuals who might commit crimes or disrupt law and order after being granted bail are being closely monitored. To reduce case backlogs, he said, the government is also appointing three judges in place of one where necessary.
