Tangail, Nov 8 (V7N) — Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur has said that the country’s economic situation is currently stable, but political stability is essential for stronger economic growth in the future.
He made the remarks at a seminar organized by the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) in Tangail on Saturday (November 8), aimed at promoting easy access to bank funds for the rural poor.
Regarding efforts to recover laundered money from abroad, Dr. Mansur said that lawyers from various banks have been sent to the United Kingdom to assert the claims of multiple corporate groups. He expressed optimism that these efforts would yield positive results soon.
The seminar was presided over by MRA Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin, and featured speeches by Sonali Bank Managing Director Shawkat Ali Khan and BRAC Bank Additional Managing Director Syed Abdul Momen. Chairmen of several NGOs across the country also attended the event.
