Dhaka, Sep 23 (V7N) – Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has assured that the firefighters injured in the Tongi chemical godown fire are receiving the best possible treatment, with the government ready to provide any additional support needed.

The Advisor gave this assurance while visiting the National Burn Institute on Tuesday morning to see those injured in Monday’s devastating blaze. “There will be no negligence in the treatment of the injured,” he said, urging the public to pray for their recovery.

The fire broke out at a chemical warehouse in Tongi around 3 pm on Monday, leaving four fire service personnel seriously injured, two of whom are in critical condition.

Doctors at the Burn Institute said that burns covering more than 40 percent of the body are considered life-threatening, but they are doing everything possible to save the victims.
