Dhaka, Sep 19 (V7N) – The 47th BCS Preliminary Examination (MCQ type) will be held today, Friday, September 19, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. The test is being conducted simultaneously in 256 educational institutions across eight divisional cities including Dhaka.

According to a notification issued by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) on September 16, candidates must enter their respective exam halls by 9:30 am, after which all gates will be closed. No candidate will be allowed to enter once the examination begins.

Applicants and Vacancies

This year, a total of 3,74,747 candidates have applied to take part in the 47th BCS. The PSC has announced 3,487 cadre posts and 201 non-cadre posts, making a combined total of 3,688 vacancies. Some new posts have also been included in this year’s recruitment.

Exam Centres

The examination is being held in the following eight divisional cities:

  • Dhaka

  • Rajshahi

  • Chattogram

  • Khulna

  • Barishal

  • Sylhet

  • Rangpur

  • Mymensingh

The BCS exams remain one of the most competitive gateways for entering public service in Bangladesh, with hundreds of thousands vying for a few thousand posts each year.
