Dhaka, Sep 16 (V7N) – Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has reaffirmed that the state cannot discriminate against any religion and that the government is committed to ensuring equal dignity for all faiths.

He made the remarks on Tuesday (September 16) while visiting the Dhakeshwari Temple in the capital to review preparations for the upcoming Durga Puja.

“We want to build a state that the world will look up to,” Yunus said, stressing that people of all religions must work together to fulfill the aspirations of the July Charter.

“If we divide ourselves, we will fail as a nation. We do not want to fail. We want to build a new Bangladesh, where all citizens will enjoy equal rights,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of religious freedom, the Chief Advisor said, “Everyone wants to celebrate their religion freely, not under the constant protection of security forces. We want to build a state where all religious festivals can be celebrated openly, without fear.”

He assured that no matter how many religious differences exist, the government will not discriminate against anyone.
