Dhaka, Sept 09 (V7N) – Voting for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections is underway today, with unprecedented security measures across the campus.

Security restrictions, which came into effect at 8 pm on Monday, will remain in force until 6 am tomorrow (Wednesday). Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Ansar members have been deployed at all major entry points, including Shahbagh, Doel Chattar, Nilkhet, Palashi, and Fuller Road. Entry is strictly limited to those carrying valid identity cards.

Vehicles are also being closely monitored, with only those bearing university stickers or belonging to emergency services permitted to pass through campus gates.

Voting began at 8 am and will continue until 4 pm. However, students who are in line within the stipulated time will be allowed to cast their ballots even after the deadline.

This year, a total of 39,775 students are eligible to vote, including 20,873 male voters and 18,902 female voters. A total of 471 candidates are contesting for 28 DUCSU posts, with polling being held simultaneously across 810 booths in 8 centers.
