Dhaka, Sep 08 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Army has categorically denied any involvement in the upcoming central student union elections, including the Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) polls, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release on Monday.

The ISPR clarified that there is “no question of army interference” in the DUCSU elections or in student politics in general. It said that a vested group is deliberately spreading false and baseless rumors aimed at undermining stability and disrupting the overall electoral atmosphere.

The press release further stated that the army is confident the long-awaited student union elections will be conducted “in an orderly and peaceful manner, upholding fairness and democratic values” so that the polls can set an example ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary elections.

The army also conveyed its best wishes to candidates, voters, and all stakeholders involved in the elections.
