Dhaka, Sept 7 (V7N) – Election Commissioner Anwarul Islam has said that the Election Commission (EC) has carried out its duties with the utmost caution and impartiality in the delimitation of electoral boundaries, leaving no room for legal challenges. He added that the voting environment is currently 100% favorable.
Speaking to journalists at the Election Building on Sunday afternoon, Anwarul Islam emphasized that there is no uncertainty surrounding the elections, and the commission has not received any reports of adverse conditions.
On the registration of political parties, he noted that almost all reports have been received, and a final decision will be made within a week. At the last stage of registration, stakeholders will have the opportunity to raise objections to party names, with the process expected to be finalized within a month.
Regarding confusion over constitutional provisions and existing laws, the commissioner clarified that the proposed RPO amendment was finalized after thorough vetting by the Law Ministry. Any conflicts with other laws will be appropriately adjusted.
