Dhaka, Aug 27 (V7N) – Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief advisor of the interim government, has warned that no attempts to destroy religious harmony will be tolerated.

He made the remarks on Wednesday morning while handing over land allotment papers to three mosques and temples in Khilkhet, Dhaka.

Shafiqul Alam explained that the Hindu temple demolished during a railway land recovery drive in Khilkhet lacked proper dignity. To address the issue, the Railway Ministry has now allocated new land for the community’s place of worship, at a rate fixed by the ministry.

He also announced that, responding to the request of the Chandranath Temple authorities in Chittagong, the government has already issued an order to repair the temple stairs.

“The government is committed to ensuring respect for all religions. Religious harmony is one of the core foundations of our society, and no one will be allowed to disrupt it,” the press secretary emphasized.
