Cox’s Bazar, Aug 25 (V7N) – Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has joined the main session of the three-day international dialogue on the Rohingya crisis, now underway in Cox’s Bazar. He will deliver the inaugural address at the main session on Monday at the Bay Watch Hotel in Inani.

The Chief Advisor arrived at Cox’s Bazar Airport on a Bangladesh Biman flight around 10 a.m. Earlier, the dialogue officially began on Sunday evening with an opening session at 5 p.m., which featured a special interactive discussion with Rohingya representatives.

During the first day, Rohingya representatives voiced frustration over what they described as the international community’s silence, which they said forces them to live indefinitely in refugee camps. The discussions focused on building trust for safe, voluntary, and dignified repatriation to Myanmar.

The event brings together local and foreign experts, diplomats, international organizations, academics, political leaders, and Rohingya community representatives. Delegates from the United Nations, development partners, and senior government policymakers are also participating.

As chief guest, Dr. Yunus is expected to emphasize Bangladesh’s consistent stance on resolving the crisis and renew calls for stronger international cooperation.

The three-day conference, jointly organized by the Office of the High Representative for Rohingya Issues and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, runs from August 24 to 26. The Chief Advisor is scheduled to leave Cox’s Bazar later today after his address.
