Dhaka, Aug 03 (V7N) – The Navy and Air Force Selection Board–2025 was officially inaugurated today by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus at the Navy Headquarters in Dhaka. The ceremony marks the formal beginning of the promotion process for key officer ranks in both military branches.

This selection board will oversee promotions from Navy Captain to Commodore, Commander to Captain, and Lieutenant Commander to Commander, as well as from Air Force Group Captain to Air Commodore, Wing Commander to Group Captain, and Squadron Leader to Wing Commander. The board comprises senior policy-making military officers who will recommend qualified and competent candidates for promotion, pending final approval from the government.

The inauguration ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor of those who lost their lives in the recent tragic plane crash near Milestone School and College. High-ranking military officials and relevant promotion officers from both the Navy and Air Force, as well as civilian officials, were in attendance.

The selection board plays a crucial role in shaping the future leadership of Bangladesh's armed forces, with an emphasis on merit, professionalism, and strategic capability.
