Dhaka, July 22 (V7N) – The price of gold has increased once again in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Jewelers' Association (BAJUS) announced that the price of 22-carat gold has been raised by Tk 1,050, setting the new rate at Tk 1,71,601 per bhori (11.664 grams), effective Wednesday (July 23).

BAJUS made the announcement through a press release issued on Tuesday, citing a rise in the price of acid gold (paka gold) in the local market as the reason behind the hike.

According to the revised price list:

  • 21-carat gold will now be sold at Tk 1,63,798 per bhori,

  • 18-carat gold at Tk 1,40,400, and

  • Traditional gold at Tk 1,16,127 per bhori.

Previously, on July 7, BAJUS had reduced the price of gold by Tk 1,500 per bhori, bringing down the price of 22-carat gold to Tk 1,70,551.

Meanwhile, the price of silver remains unchanged in the domestic market. Current silver prices are:

  • 22-carat silver at Tk 2,811 per bhori,

  • 21-carat silver at Tk 2,683,

  • 18-carat silver at Tk 2,298, and

  • Traditional silver at Tk 1,726 per bhori.
