Dhaka, July 04 (V7N) – Chief Advisor to the Interim Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus has extended warm greetings to the government and people of the United States on the occasion of the country’s 249th Independence Day.

In a statement issued on Friday (July 4), Dr. Yunus said, “I extend my heartfelt greetings to the United States and the American people on the occasion of their 249th Independence Day.”

The statement highlighted the longstanding partnership between Bangladesh and the United States. “Based on the common aspiration of the people of both countries to uphold the values of democracy and freedom, cooperation between the two countries has deepened and expanded over the past five decades,” the Chief Advisor noted.

He mentioned that bilateral ties now encompass a wide range of sectors beyond trade, investment, and development cooperation, including direct people-to-people contacts.

Dr. Yunus reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening joint efforts in areas such as trade and investment, energy, agriculture, science and technology, education and research, climate change, peace, and security.

Expressing optimism about the future, the Chief Advisor said he hoped that the partnership between the two nations would grow even stronger in the years ahead.

He concluded by wishing the US President and his family good health, along with continued peace and prosperity for the American people.
