Tehran, Mar 18 (V7N) – Iran has confirmed the death of its National Security Advisor, Ali Larijani, following an Israeli attack, according to reports broadcast by state television and multiple media outlets.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had claimed that Larijani was killed in a targeted strike carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday.
Ali Larijani was considered one of the most influential figures in Iran and a close confidant of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He played a key role in shaping Iran’s strategic and political direction.
Larijani also served as Iran’s chief negotiator on its nuclear program and was instrumental in the 2015 agreement between Iran and six world powers, including the United States.
His death marks a significant development amid rising regional tensions.
