Tel Aviv, Mar 07 (V7N) – At least five ballistic missiles were fired from Iran toward Israel since midnight on Friday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported. Initial military assessments indicate that Israel’s air defense systems intercepted the missiles, and there were no direct hits or casualties, according to local medical authorities.

The United States has approved an emergency arms sale to Israel. The US State Department announced on Saturday that Washington will provide over $150 million worth of weapons, including BLU bombs, along with logistical and technical support. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the weapons would be delivered as soon as possible under special procedures.

Explosions were reported in Dubai and Manama, Bahrain, accompanied by warning sirens, according to AFP. Bahrain’s Interior Ministry urged citizens and residents to remain calm and move to the nearest safe locations, while the army confirmed that Iran-launched missiles targeted Israel and that their defense systems were operational. Residents in affected areas received mobile alerts warning of the threat.

In retaliation, Israel attacked Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran, the Iranian capital. Videos and photos circulating on social media showed fires at the airport, though Iranian authorities have not released official casualty reports.

The situation marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, with international attention on the rapid delivery of US military support and regional tensions in the Gulf.
