Tehran, Mar 07 (V7N) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that while some countries have initiated mediation efforts to end the ongoing war with the United States and Israel, accountability for those responsible must come first.
In a post on X on Friday, Pezeshkian said, “Some countries have taken the initiative to mediate. We want to make it clear that we are committed to lasting peace in the region. However, we will not hesitate to protect the dignity and sovereignty of our nation.”
He emphasized that any mediation efforts should focus on those who underestimated the Iranian people and fueled the conflict.
The war began with a joint attack involving Iran and Israel last Saturday, and Tehran has consistently blamed Washington and Tel Aviv for the escalation.
