Tel Aviv, June 20 (V7N) — Several areas in southern Israel, including parts of Beersheba, have been rocked by deadly Iranian missile strikes amid the escalating Iran-Israel conflict, according to reports from Al Jazeera.
The missiles, launched directly from Iranian territory, struck residential neighborhoods in Beersheba, causing significant damage. Multiple explosions led to fires engulfing parked cars, with emergency responders working to bring the situation under control. A major train station in the region was forced to suspend operations following the attack.
The Israeli military (IDF) admitted that their advanced air defense systems were unable to intercept all of the incoming missiles, resulting in direct hits on civilian areas. The full extent of casualties and damage is yet to be confirmed.
The Iranian offensive comes in retaliation for Israel’s massive air assault earlier in the day. Tel Aviv had deployed 60 warplanes in a coordinated strike, dropping around 120 bombs on Iranian targets, including the headquarters of Iran’s elite special forces in Tehran. Israel also claimed to have destroyed an Iranian missile production facility in the same operation.
In addition to air raids, Israel launched surface-to-surface missiles, targeting key sites across Iran, including Isfahan and critical industrial areas near the Caspian Sea. Explosions were also reported in the northern Iranian city of Rasht.
With both nations ramping up military offensives, fears of a broader regional conflict continue to grow.
