Tehran, June 17 (V7N) — Iran has announced the closure of its airspace until 2 p.m. local time as tensions with Israel continue to escalate. The country’s state news agency IRNA confirmed the development on Monday, citing security concerns.
According to the report, the airspace will remain closed “until the situation normalizes.” Authorities have also urged citizens to avoid traveling to airports during this period. For updated information, passengers have been directed to consult the official website of the Civil Aviation Organization.
Meanwhile, the death toll continues to rise on both sides of the conflict. Since Israeli attacks on Iran began last Friday, more than 250 people have reportedly been killed across Iran, including in critical facilities in Tehran and other key cities.
In response, Iran has launched successive missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory. So far, at least 24 Israelis have been confirmed dead in the ongoing retaliatory strikes.
As the conflict intensifies, international calls for a ceasefire are growing, with diplomatic efforts reportedly underway.
