Pabna, August 2 (V7N) – In a grassroots push for local political representation, Hasanul Islam Raja, advisor to the central committee of the Jatiyatabadi Sanskritik Dol and BNP nomination aspirant for Pabna-3, is reaching out to residents of Chatmohar with the campaign slogan “Wake up, dear people of Chatmohar.”

Raja is advocating for a parliamentary candidate from Chatmohar itself, citing decades of alleged exploitation and neglect by non-local MPs. He argues that the area has been systematically deprived of development across sectors due to a lack of genuine representation.

On Thursday, July 31, Raja took to the streets of Chatmohar municipality, distributing leaflets and engaging with traders and pedestrians from afternoon into the evening.

Speaking to the press, Raja claimed that repeated appointments of MPs from outside the constituency have left Chatmohar marginalized. He criticized these politicians for lacking commitment to the region, and called on residents to unite in rejecting outsider candidates in the upcoming election.

“We will no longer accept externally imposed representatives,” Raja said. “Those local leaders who align with outside candidates for personal gain will be rejected by the people of Chatmohar.”

He emphasized the need for collective action to secure a locally nominated BNP candidate, and urged constituents to raise their voices for the area’s future.

Raja was joined by a number of local party figures during the campaign, including Jahurul Islam Master, former joint secretary of Chatmohar municipal BNP; Robiul Karim, joint general secretary of the Upazila Sessasebok Dol; BNP leader Abdul Quddus Molla; Rezaul Karim Babu, president of Mathurapur Union Krishak Dol; Alamin Talukdar of Jubo Dol; and Shariful Islam, convener of the Divigram Union Jubo Dol, among others.
