Dhaka, July 26 (V7N) – Members of the July fighters and families of martyrs have expressed concern that holding elections before implementing the July Declaration and July Charter could undermine the mass uprising. They fear that premature polls may even lead to the July fighters being branded as traitors.
These remarks were made during a discussion and prayer meeting organized by the Energy and Mineral Resources Department at Petrobangla on Saturday morning.
Speakers emphasized the need for vigilance by all parties—including the state, government, and politicians—to preserve the spirit and goals of the July movement.
Energy Secretary Mohammad Saiful Islam, who attended the event as the chief guest, issued a strong warning to government officials and employees, stating, “No one is above accountability. Those who neglect their duties or commit wrongdoing will be held responsible.”
Other notable speakers at the event included BPC Chairman Amin ul Ahsan, Petrobangla Chairman Rezanur Rahman, injured July fighter Hossain Ahmed, and Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan, father of martyr Farhan Fayaz.
