Dhaka, July 24 (V7N) – The death toll from the tragic warplane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara has risen to 33, after another injured child died while undergoing treatment.
The deceased, Mahtab, was a seventh-grade student at Milestone School and passed away at 1:50 PM on Thursday (July 24) at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Earlier on Thursday morning, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had confirmed the death toll at 32, with around 150 others injured in the accident. However, the Ministry of Health has officially recorded the death toll at 29 so far.
Currently, 56 people are receiving treatment across various hospitals, with 7 patients at the Burn Institute reported to be in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the bodies of 6 victims remain unidentified. According to the Health Ministry, DNA samples have been collected from those bodies to assist in identification.
This tragic incident continues to send shockwaves across the country, with the nation mourning the loss of so many young lives.
