Khulna, Feb 04 (V7N) - Authorities in Khulna have successfully apprehended a primary suspect linked to a notorious triple homicide that took place in the Tutpara district. The suspect, 35-year-old Bismillah Sheikh, was captured during a late-night raid on Monday in the Darogar Bosti area following a targeted operation by local law enforcement. Police officials confirmed that the arrest was made possible through precise intelligence regarding Sheikh’s whereabouts, ending his period as a fugitive from the law.
Beyond his alleged involvement in the killings, Sheikh was already a wanted man with a standing criminal record. At the time of his capture, he was facing an outstanding warrant for a two-year prison sentence previously handed down by a Khulna court. This prior conviction had made him a high-priority target for the Khulna Police Station even before his name surfaced in connection with more violent crimes.
The investigation into the triple murder at Darbesh Molla Goli took a significant turn when several other detainees implicated Sheikh in the plot. According to Md Yusuf Ali, the lead investigator, the alleged mastermind of the killings, Shamim Ahmed, specifically named Sheikh during formal confessional statements. These testimonies provided the legal basis for his arrest and have positioned him as a central figure in the ongoing criminal inquiry.
Legal proceedings are now moving swiftly as Sheikh is set to be formally charged and placed on remand for further interrogation. Investigative teams have noted that early questioning has already yielded several critical leads that clarify the logistics of the crime. Law enforcement believes that Sheikh’s cooperation or further testimony will be vital in corroborating the evidence gathered from other suspects currently in custody.
With this latest arrest, the Khulna police are nearing the final stages of their investigation into the high-profile case. Authorities have signaled that the comprehensive charge sheet, which outlines the evidence against all involved parties, is nearly complete and will be submitted to the court in the coming days. This move marks a major step toward seeking justice for the victims and closing a case that has drawn intense public scrutiny.
