Dhaka, Dec 20, (V7N) — Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus joined thousands at the South Plaza of the National Parliament on Saturday to pay his final respects to Sharif Osman Hadi, the Inqilab Mancha spokesperson and a prominent figure of the July Revolution. Addressing the massive gathering before the funeral prayers, Dr. Yunus described Hadi as an immortal symbol of the nation's struggle for justice and sovereignty. He noted that Hadi’s life and death have left an indelible mark on the hearts of the Bangladeshi people, particularly the youth who led the uprising against fascism.

In a poignant tribute, Dr. Yunus highlighted the fearless spirit of the fallen leader, stating that Sharif Osman Hadi’s life was defined by the mantra "Bal Bir Chi Udna Mom Shir" (Speak, O Hero, High is My Head). The Chief Adviser remarked that Hadi gave the nation a powerful mantra of never bowing one's head to injustice, a principle that will now remain permanently etched in the collective consciousness of the country. "Lakhs of people have gathered here to honor his legacy," Dr. Yunus said, adding that the presence of such a vast crowd is a testament to the impact Hadi had as a frontline fighter for democracy.

Dr. Yunus emphasized that the nation is not bidding a final farewell to Osman Hadi, as his ideals and courage will continue to guide the people. "He is and will remain in our hearts," the Chief Adviser declared, promising that the government and the public together would work to fulfill the vision and "words" that Hadi championed during his life. He described Hadi’s life as a song of courage and fearlessness—a life lived standing tall rather than submitting to fear.

Concluding his speech, Dr. Yunus stated that as long as the map of Bangladesh exists, Osman Hadi’s name will be remembered by all. He reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring justice for the attack that claimed Hadi's life and urged the citizens to remain united in the face of conspiracies. Following the speech and the funeral prayer at 2 pm, preparations were made to lay the martyr to rest beside the grave of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, honoring his wish to be buried near a fellow symbol of rebellion and strength.
